Maine Jewish Film Festival

The Festival Coordinator will work in tandem with the Executive Director and Programming Committee to manage the audience-facing and stakeholder group elements of the Festivals’ events. 

This position will report to the Executive Director, Maine Jewish Film Festival. Our ideal candidate will have substantial event production experience, preferably in the areas of arts or entertainment. Candidates should be up-to-date with industry and festival trends, and bring a spirit of curiosity and innovation, while always striving to support inclusion and diversity in all that we do.

This position pays $30-35/hour, based on experience. This is a part-time position with approximately 15-20 hours a week through 2024, with additional hours closer to our 2025 March festival. This position is remote/hybrid, with required assistance at live events in the Portland area.

Managerial Responsibilities:

• Manage the website (mjff.org); work with the E.D. and Board of Directors to maintain

relevant/updated content

•  Coordinate MJFF event volunteers including soliciting and supervising volunteers and ensuring all events are appropriately staffed

•  Assist E.D. in managing any part-time staff hired for events

•  Manage all ticketing systems for festival; set up and maintain box office activities and ticket sales

•  Provide customer service to festival ticket buyers, attendees and MJFF donors

•  Help manage donor database

•  Provide reports to E.D. and Board of Directors on ticketing, volunteer management, donor activity and events

Administrative Responsibilities:

• With E.D. assist with coordination of Festival events, including off-season programming

• Coordinate testing of all technology for in person and virtual festival; coordinate delivery of films to venues and return to distributor

• Assist E.D. with outreach for educational programs and community outreach 

• Manage travel and accommodations for in person guests and filmmakers

• Coordinate email marketing including managing email database and creating and sending marketing and other email blasts

• Assist E.D. with annual appeal; create and manage donor mailing lists; coordinate logistics for mailing; process donations and add to donor software

• With E.D. and Board members, coordinate sponsor communication regarding logos, ads and comp tickets

• Manage comp tickets and other benefits to MJFF donors and sponsors

You have the following direct or transferable skill sets:

• Legal authorization to work in the United States

• 3-5 years’ experience operationalizing vision within an arts nonprofit or similar industry

• 3 years’ experience in event production with a preference for film festival, arts, or entertainment industry experience

• Experience in ticketing strategy and operations

• Experience in Constant Contact or other email programs and social media; proficiency in PhotoShop and/or Adobe Creative Suite a plus

• Strong project management skills

• A genuine passion for and excitement about MJFF’s work

• Desire to contribute to other projects that advance the Festival’s mission and activities
