MUSICA DE FILIA INVITED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 2015 COA NATIONALS FOR ALL CHOIRS.

Henry Leck will conduct a projected 600+singers in a massed choir concert in Carnegie Hall during the prestigious three-day event.

Portland, MaineMusica De Filia recently accepted an invitation from Choirs of America to be one of a handful of elite choirs to participate in the 2015 COA Nationals for All Choirs.

“We carefully select and invite only top choral programs,” said COA’s Artistic Director, Christopher Scott Olin. These choirs then come together for unprecedented choral music education opportunities and performances.”

Musica De Filia will be attending the COA Nationals in June of 2015. The event will take place in the New York City area from June 25-27, 2015. Henry Leck, the Founder and Artistic Director of the Indianapolis Children’s Choir, is one of the world’s most respected choral conductors and will be the COA National’s Master Conductor.

Choirs invited to the COA Nationals will participate in adjudicated performances with performance reviews, observational opportunities, full one-hour clinics with renowned clinicians such as Eugene Rogers, Suzi Digby and Josephine Lee, choral exchanges, and engaging workshops. During the massed choir concert, Mr. Leck will lead a 600 or more voice massed choir prism concert in Carnegie Hall’s Stern Auditorium. Noted composers, Ola Gjeilo and Dan Forrest, will also be on hand for the tutti finale of their new pieces commissioned specifically for the COA Nationals.

We provide a warm and friendly environment emphasizing confidence, self-discipline, and musical excellence. Weekly rehearsals include age-appropriate training in the physical aspects of singing and performing (posture, breath control, tone development) as well as interpretation of musical notation and following choral direction. This is an exciting and unforgettable opportunity for our girls!” said Jaye Churchill.

“We are blessed to have elite choral programs from across the country participating, as well as our all-star lineup of clinicians, adjudicators and workshop presenters; not to mention the exceptional talent we have in Henry Leckto conduct the concert in Carnegie Hall,” said Geoffrey McQueen, COA’s Executive Director. The fact that we also get to perform new works by Ola Gjeilo and Dan Forrest is nothing short of amazing. I can’t imagine it getting any better than this.
