Opera House Arts: Searching for an Executive Director
- September 01, 2020
Opera House Arts (OHA) is seeking a full-time Executive Director to lead a nonprofit, multidisciplinary arts organization which stages Actors Equity productions in summer and offers arts and education programming year’round. OHA’s mission and programming grow from relationships with OHA’s Community Advisory Board, artists, theater professionals, teaching artists, local schools, community partners, town officials and businesses, state entities, individual donors, foundations and supporters.
The ideal candidate has strong leadership, management, development and strategic planning experience, ability to work effectively with Boards of Directors and staff, and real interest in community engagement. This person must be a visionary leader with background in leading a community-based organization -- experience with an arts organization is highly desirable. An ideal candidate must be comfortable living in an island community on a vibrant yet remote part of the Down East Maine coast.
Competitive candidates will have demonstrated success with and interest in the responsibilities of the OHA Executive Director: leadership and strategy; community relations; interaction with donors; finance, budgeting, accounting; and administration. For description and qualifications: operahousearts.org or Opera House Arts, Attention: Grace Gregor, P.O. Box 56, Stonington ME 04681. Application deadline: September 30, 2020.
