Pam Cabanas - Arts in the Barn
- July 01, 2015

Friendship artist, Pam Cabanas will present a series of large drawings at Arts in the Barn, Hathorn Point Road, Cushing, Maine, opening on Friday, July 17, 2015 from 5 - 8pm.
“and so it is . . .”
A series drawn in compressed charcoal on vellum inspired by the Coast Guard channel markers from the western edge of Friendship, Maine, thru the harbor, out Morse's channel, around Pleasant Point and up the St. George River. The works are a bridge from my heart to the sea and its promise and its peril.
The Friday evening Opening Event will include a short introduction by myself regarding the intent of the work, followed live premier performance of "Homeward Bounders" a marvelous sea chanty written by the late Harold Lash, a friendship native, sailor, and dear friend. Sung by soloist Karen Meyn, - it is wonderful. Kat Logan will join in on keyboard and vocals singing great songs of the sea, including my favorite, "Driftin’ too far From the Shore."
Hopefully I get on keyboard to interpret a couple of pieces written by Damien Rice and Ray La Montagne that played a huge role in keeping my heart focused on these drawings.
Please join me at Arts in The Barn, Friday July 17, 5 – 8 pm. Arts in the Barn is presented by the Cushing Historical Society, and is located a short distance down Hathorn Point Road, in Cushing, Maine.
The exhibit will be open from 10am – 4 pm, July 17, 18 and 19.
If you can’t make the opening, I hope you get a chance to see the show at sometime over the weekend!
