Shakuhachi is a traditional bamboo flute played by by Zen monks in Japan since the 16th century. The traditional Honkyoku music was a vehicle for meditation and passed down from teacher to student in a rich oral tradition. Today the music can be enjoyed by everyone. Toji Kaido' has played Shakuhachi for more than 20 years and is a licensed teacher. The way of Shakuhachi is long and sometimes challenging, but it's practice can illuminate one's inner being.
