Strand Theatre Dance/Theater/Cinema Pilot Coordinator

The non-profit Strand Theatre, located in Rockland, Maine—a 350-seat single screen/stage theater that presents films, concerts, live opera and theater broadcasts, lectures, community events, and educational programs—seeks a coordinator for a 1-2yr pilot program designed to gauge community interest and support for expanded arts programming (primarily dance, theater, and cinema) to be presented at the Strand and other venues (experimental and traditional) throughout the midcoast Maine region. Program Pilot Coordinator will plan and produce programs in collaboration with Strand Executive Director, with support from the Strand Pilot committee, and gather and record metrics associated with programs and audience engagement to help build a program evaluation for future strategic planning.

Coordinator must have experience in the arts, planning and producing events: working with artists, managing project budgets, assessing tech needs, etc.

The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit who has a passion for the performing arts. Tech experience and know-how is a plus. Critical thinking and creative problem solving is a must!

  • Schedule can be flexible and structured to be part or full time depending on the requirements of the coordinator and/or the pilot project.
  • $23-$28/hr depending on experience and schedule
  • Health and disability insurance programs available
  • Vacation and paid time off
  • Housing can be negotiated
