Beaches make for the best gigs! The Compaq Big Band LOVES oceanfront venues, and this one did not disappoint us on our first two performances there in ‘21 & ‘22 (sadly, rained out in ’23). We’re back at the Ellis Park Bandstand on *MAGNIFICENT* Short Sands Beach in York, Maine on Saturday August 10th! This is a FREE concert, open to all – just bring a blanket and/or lawn chair.

The show runs 6:30pm-8:30pm. Weather Permitting Only. The bandstand is right on the water, located along Ocean Avenue/Route 1A. Use “Ellis Park, Ocean Avenue, York, ME” for navigation.

Fronting the band on August 10th will be Bella Holtz, on her second long-term long term stint with us, channelin’ Ella Fitzgerald, Natalie Cole, and more. We’ll also be hittin’ the audience with some of our best instrumental arrangements, too. Think Bill Holman, Sammy Nestico, Chris Walden, plus perhaps another surprise or two.

Several great restaurants such as the Union Bluff Grill & Pub, plus the York Beach Beer Company, are within a few blocks’ walk of the bandstand. Parking at the adjacent public lot is $4/hour.

Just a little PSA: When driving up from Massachusetts and New Hampshire, mind the usually-heavy (and occasionally legendary) seasonal Saturday afternoon/evening traffic delays on I-95 getting to the Pine Tree State – leave early!
