A Victorian Nutcracker is a retelling of the classic story of a young girl’s Christmas Eve dream, brought on by a curious gift of a nutcracker, in which she travels to the Sugar Plum Fairy’s Land of the Sweets. This version is unique to Portland and its history, as the first act takes place in the Victoria Mansion with characters pulled directly from Portland’s past.

There are 3 performances at Westbrook Performing Arts Center:  Saturday, December 21 at 11:00am and 5:00pm, and Sunday, December 22 at 2:00pm.

There is a Land of the Sweets family-friendly event that is available as a 10:00am add-on to the December 21st 11:00am or a 1:00pm add-on to the December 22nd 2:00pm performances of A Victorian Nutcracker.   Join your favorite Nutcracker characters for a magical afternoon before the performance.  Guests are invited to enjoy tea sandwiches, sweet treats, and hot beverages.  All children must be accompanied by an adult.  Each child will receive a special souvenir and have the opportunity to pose for pictures with the Sugar Plum Fairy.
