Andy Rosen, Fits and Starts, An artist talk
- Date: May 1, 2025
- Time: 05:00 PM - 06:00 PM
- Location: Freeport Hall, New Gloucester

Part of Unity's Artist Series hosting Maine-based artists looking at the intersection of nature and art. Join Maine sculptor Andy Rosen for a presentation and art display. This is a free event open to the public.
Rosen likes bringing art to places where people aren't used to seeing it. His work often explores boundary spaces between domesticity and wilderness. He utilizes unconventional, impractical or even absurd methods of construction as another way of testing boundaries, “The more I push against these edges, the more I see that there isn’t really a line. The wild continues into my thoughts, anxieties and cravings.”
He has created site-speciļ¬c installations for numerous locations in Maine and beyond. Rosen holds an MFA from the University of Iowa and a BFA from Alfred University. His work has appeared in exhibitions nationally and internationally including the Portland Museum of Art (Portland, ME), Jim Kempner Fine Arts (New York,NY), Tacoma Museum of Art (Tacoma, WA), Cuchifritos Gallery (New York,NY), Pulse Art Fair (Miami, FL), Ogunquit Museum of American Art (Ogunquit, ME) & Tetra Projects (traveling exhibition) Mytilene, Greece.
His art practice extends to teaching and he lives in South Portland with his family
