Introduction To Drawing Realistic Birds
- Date: January 8, 2026 - January 29, 2026 (Thursday)
- Time: 01:00 PM - 04:00 PM
- Location: Online, Mount Desert
During this 4-week workshop hosted on Zoom, Susannah will show you the techniques to sketch birds from observation using a few graphite pencils and a kneaded eraser. No prior drawing experience is necessary, just the willingness to try something new.
Students will learn to use basic feather groups as drawing anchors to get the correct proportions of their birds, as well as shading techniques to create the illusion of realism. Each Thursday session is 3 hours to accommodate student questions and live feedback as you work.
Students will have access to full recordings of the demos for 90 days after the workshop ends.
