Maine landscape setting for ancient Buddhist tale - Glickman Library Exhibit
- Date: June 2, 2015 - September 30, 2015
- Location: University of Southern Maine, Portland
June, artist and illustrator, exhibits work spanning fifty years. Shown is her original illustration for the children’s book “The Pumpkin Patch—A Traditional Buddhist Tale,” Heian International, with landscapes inspired by a family home on the Medomak River in Maine. Also exhibited are the original pen and ink illustrations for “Serendipity Tales,” Atheneum. A collection of Giclee prints are available for collection.
Currently, June Atkin and Timothy Wyllie explore a new graphic modality; two artists working on the same drawing. In collaboration they have created a series of large visionary drawings in prismacolor pencil.
Timothy Wyllie, artist, author, calligrapher, and book designer, exhibits “The Helianx Proposition,” a cosmic fable twenty years in the making.
We encourage you to stop by anytime during Library hours to see this exhibit, which will be on display in the 7th floor Great Reading Room, Glickman Family Library, until September 2015. Library hours vary. Please visit usm.maine.edu/library/office-hours for information.
