Art in public spaces shapes the community and culture where it appears. The gallery at Waterfall Arts is a public space. While it’s not accessible 24/7 like graffiti on a city street might be, it’s free to enter and open to everyone. Make Your Mark will transform the Clifford Gallery into an immersive environment inspired by street art, with a variety of installations created for visitors to interact with in a call-and-response format. 

The exhibition will feature doodle walls; one of Candy Chang’s Before I Die walls; a “sticky” communal prompt inviting visitors to share what they hope to see more of in the future; and a collaboration station where materials will be available for participants to create a piece of art on the spot and immediately add it to the wall, building the installation together as the exhibition unfolds.

Street art often invites people to pause, participate, and add something of their own. Make Your Mark brings that spirit into the gallery, encouraging visitors of all ages to contribute a drawing, message, or small artwork. Over the course of the exhibition, the gallery will grow and change with every new contribution—reminding us that creativity flourishes when everyone is invited to take part.
