Opening on First Friday August 2nd from 5-8pm, SPACE presents the first Maine solo exhibition project of acclaimed artist and New York Times illustrator Martha Rich. The artist was born and raised in Bangor and is resettling in Downeast Maine. This exhibition explores a respite from the daily grind and hardships of life (grief, major events, work, social media, news cycles) to create a place to come in and take a load off; whether heavy or light, a moment to laugh, connect, rest, or escape. In the back gallery of SPACE, Rich presents a special project with two other Philadelphia-Maine artists, X Fang and Heather Ramsdale.
