Material as Memory is a group exhibition set in a forest cabin in midcoast Maine, bringing together six artists who explore how materials can hold emotion, memory, and transformation. Through textiles, paint, found objects, and early photographic processes, each artist treats material not just as a medium, but as a vessel for personal and collective experience.
The cabin itself becomes part of the story—its natural setting reinforcing the idea that memory is lived, layered, and embedded in form. Together, the works invite viewers to slow down and consider how meaning can be carried through what we touch, build, and leave behind.
