Midsummer on the Prom: A Ballet Picnic invites families and friends to gather on Portland’s beautiful Eastern Promenade for an enchanting afternoon of dance, whimsy, and community. Guests are encouraged to bring picnic blankets while enjoying magical performance excerpts presented by Portland Ballet dancers as fairies from 'A Midsummer Night's Dream', mini ballet lessons, activities and crafts, and delightful experiences for children and families. The event will include special appearances by mini-unicorns (mini horses) thanks to our friends at Riding to the Top!

With live performance at the heart of the celebration, this joyful summer gathering brings together dance, community, and midsummer magic against the backdrop of Casco Bay. Once each hour, Portland Ballet dancers will present performance excerpts and lead interactive mini-movement sessions, inviting guests to experience the beauty and joy of ballet.

Crafts, activities, and performances are included with entry to the Picnic. Available for additional purchase: Snacks, refreshments, and merchandise.
