Organization Project Grant - Firefly and Beethoven's 9th: Reflections On Joy and Humanity

The Bangor Symphony Orchestra received funding from the Maine Arts Commission to support a unique collaborative performance with Wabanaki creator and performer Jason K. Brown, also known as Firefly the Hybrid. Firefly's piece will have its world premiere at the 2022-23 season finale concert "Ode to Joy" on Sunday, April 30, 2023, 3 pm, at the Collins Center for the Arts on the University of Maine campus in Orono, ME. Also on the program are Thompson's "Alleluia" and Beethoven's "Symphony No. 9 in D minor, Op. 125."
