Looking to break into the film industry, but haven’t been able to get your foot in the door? Explore the career path of becoming a Production Assistant! Join the Maine Film Association on June 17 to learn about the various PA roles on set, PA best practices, and how this particular job gives you perspective, experience, and skills that will benefit your filmmaking career for the long haul.

Our production panelists include Producer/Production Supervisor Rachel Attwood, Director of Photography Jeff Griecci of Mint Films, and Creative Designer & Stylist Maili Lafayette of Style by maili, and will be moderated by Freelance Commercial Producer Emma Gregg.

Emma Gregg will take us through some basics for production assistants: the do’s and don’ts, safety, attitude and etiquette, and how to advocate for yourself as a crew member. Then we’ll hear from our three panelists about PA’ing in their particular fields, how they got started in the industry, their advice for those getting started, and stories from the field. Bring your questions! Participants will have the opportunity to ask panelists questions and discover how to become a PA in the Maine film industry.
