Part of Bagaduce Music’s Second Wednesday House Party, this hands-on workshop with Helen Kuhar and Rose Jackson of Dearest Dear explores the lively European social dance tradition of balfolk. Participants will learn a balfolk tune and the corresponding dance while exploring how musicians shape rhythm and accompaniment to support dancers. Open to melody and accompaniment instruments, as well as anyone curious about the music or dance.
