Poet and musician Dave Morrison will be presenting Poetry Rocks, a spoken word/looped guitar mash-up at 40 Paper restaurant on Thursday January 16, 2025. First released as a CD on Mishara Music in 2015, Poetry Rocks has been described as ‘poetry with a soundtrack’, using layered electric guitar loops as a background for poems. Happy hour starts at 4 pm, and Poetry Rocks at 5 pm. 40 Paper is located at 40 Washington street in Camden. This event is free and open to all.

Hailed as 'A hearty weed in the garden of American poetry' (Dispatch Magazine) Dave Morrison's poems have been published in literary magazines and anthologies, and featured on Writer’s Almanac, Take Heart, and Poems from Here. Morrison has published seventeen books of poetry including Clubland (poems about rock & roll bars in verse and meter, Fighting Cock Press 2011) and Cancer Poems (JukeBooks 2015). We Are Here and It Is Now (Soul Finger Press 2024) is his most recent collection. After years of playing in rock bands in Boston and NYC, Morrison now lives on the coast of Maine.
