About the Artist

The Sheepscot Jazz & Swing Company is a jazz band from midcoast Maine. Our musicians have been performing together since the late 1970's. The band plays a mix of jazz from Duke Ellington to Count Basie, Louis Armstrong to Fats Waller, and Tommy Dorsey to Benny Goodman. The bottom line is, if the music swings, we play it!

Collectively, SJSC musicians have worked with such luminaries as John Best (lead trumpet in the original Glenn Miller Band), Jimmy Cheatham (Kansas City blues trombonist, formerly with Duke Ellington, Lionel Hampton, and Thad Jones orchestras), Jimmy Dean, Gene Krupa, Teddy Wilson (of the famed Benny Goodman band), Tyree Glen, Bobby Hackett, Roy Eldredge, Willy "The Lion" Smith, Peanuts Hucko, Scott Hamilton, Jerry Fuller, Lennie Sogoloff, Muddy Waters, B.B. King, James Cotton, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Dave Mason, John Hammond, Tom Rush, and ?Pine-top? Perkins.

We perform for weddings, concerts, civic events, parties, etc., from small to large gatherings. We guarantee our swinging rhythms will get your feet tapping!
