About the Artist

A Company of Girls (ACOG) is an afterschool and outreach arts-based resiliency and empowerment program for girls located in Portland, Maine. The mission of A Company of Girls is to strengthen and empower girls and their families and foster community through the arts. ACOG girls learn leadership, build confidence, collaborate effectively, and exhibit greater self-efficacy and resistance to peer pressure. Through diverse experiences in theater, as well as visual and culinary arts, ACOG works with youth who identify as girls to cultivate self-confidence, build resiliency, and create a community of tolerance and acceptance where uniqueness is celebrated and creativity thrives.
