Veterans Writing Project

About the Artist

The Veterans Writing Project is a Maine based 501(c)(3) that provides no-cost creative writing workshops for veterans and their family members. We have presented our workshops in 25 states and had more than 3600 participants come through them. We also publish writing by veterans and family members in our literary journal, O-Dark-Thirty.org. Our instructors are veterans who are working writers with graduate writing degrees. We use a craft-based curriculum focused on the elements of writing: scene, setting, dialogue, narrative structure, plot, and point of view.
