About the Artist

Lesbian playwright, lecturer, touring performer, director, and activist. The author of more than forty-eight plays, most of them lesbian-themed, Gage has also written four books on lesbian theatre. She tours in her award-winning, one-woman show, The Second Coming of Joan of Arc and offers lectures on lesbian theatre and workshops on non-traditional roles for women. The winner of numerous state and national awards, she is the artistic director of Cauldron and Labrys, a women's theatre company based in Portland, ME.
