About the Artist

Fiction and nonfiction writer Nancy Heiser has published short stories in the Seattle Review, Alkali Flats, Paterson Literary Review, Thema, Potpourri, and Nightshade Nightstand Reader. Her nonfiction has appeared widely in newspapers and magazines, including Tennis Week, Down East, Americana, Library Journal, Mothers Today, New England Running, Bangor Daily News, Brunswick Times Record, Maine Sunday Telegram, and Bay Area Parent. She has read several of her essays on Maine Public Radio. In 2001 she founded Zipline Press and published a cookbook of quick and easy main meals entitled Seat-of-the-pants Suppers. Heiser is available for presentations, workshops, and book signings. She also edits and critiques manuscripts for a fee.
