About the Artist
My artwork is a natural extension of my love for Nature and Life. My favorite subjects include portraits of people and animals, the human figure, and scenery - landscapes & seascapes. I've restored oil paintings and done freelance commercial art - graphic design, murals, ceramic mural installations, signs, logos, advertising, for over 30 years. I have done computer graphics since the early 80's.
I teach both private and group classes and have taught and presented art to schools, summer camps, and churches.
I work realisticly and in many mediums, including computer graphics, stained glass and clay sculpture, as well as the classic oils, watercolors, pastels, pen & ink, acrylics, and enamels. I have artwork inspired by travel through Central and South America, and several tropical islands, underwater images inspired by scuba diving, and many paintings of the Maine Coast, the ocean, the sea, the maritimes.
I am very interested in illustrating children's stories. I also would like opportunities to create more painted / sculpted murals.
Other artists describe my work as having a Spiritual Quality - saying that it carries my wonder and appreciation for Nature to the viewer. My WEB site is a gallery of past and present work. Fine Arts commissions range from $100 to $7500; Graphic Design from $25-$50 per hour relative to size, medium, complexity, and inspiration. Teaching; $25 per hour
