About the Artist

He is a recipient of several writing awards, including the Abraham Woursell Prize from the University of Vienna/Austria for fiction, a Martin Dibner Memorial Fellowship from the Maine Community Foundation and a National Press Foundation grant. Among his current projects are several stage plays, children’s picture books, a collection of poetry and a mystery novel set in New England.
"My performances, sometimes accompanied by musicians, reflect my cultural lineage, that includes African-American, West Indian and Native American traditions, as well as my unwavering belief in humanity," states Donaldson, who is available for public readings of his published work.
