About the Artist

Mexican-born Esduardo Mariscal "is an ambitious choreographer and dancer of impressive creative power" (PPH Jan. 1997). "(Esduardo's) work contains many juxtaposed images and ideas from pop culture to high art, from burlesque to ballet ... His trademark blending of surreal humor and struggle... contains facets of installation and performance art, making heavy use of props." (PPH Dec. 1997). Through student workshops and performances, Esduardo is establishing an arts-outreach program to aine high schools.
