About the Artist

Helping students discover their individual movement expression, Lisa Newcomb creates workshops and classes that are fun and inspirational. Her extensive background includes Afro-Caribbean, Modern, Jazz, Improvisational/Creative and Folk dance. Lisa has traveled around the world studying dance and folklore with teachers in Africa, Brazil, Europe and North America. Using her knowledge of diverse cultures, she encourages students to explore the meaning of dance in their lives. Lisa is accompanied by an experienced drummer and conducts classes and works in creative movement and African-inspired dance.
