About the Artist

Charlotte Agell writes and illustrates picture books. She invites students to tell their own stories, in pictures and words, working with students on all aspects of writing stories, from catching an idea to developing characters and plot. Charlotte incorporates drawing as a tool for deeper understanding of character and exploration of setting. Her tailored units have resulted in fifth grade poetry chapbooks, first grade opera, ballad lyrics and scripts for student plays. Shorter workshops on how people make picture books are also available.
