About the Artist

Baker's watercolors represent her deep connection with the woods and coast of maine. She is known for her action paintings in the marine and sporting arena. Favorite outdoor pasttimes like kayaking, canoeing, sailing, skiing and fly-fishing are painted in way to capture the inspiration and excitement of the moment. Many of her images convey stories derived from adventures: nordic and downhill skiing, bird hunting with her hunting dogs, delivering yachts, or from hiking in Newfoundland. Her Watercolors and pastels , which are vivid in color, are reminescent of Winslow Homer's style.
