About the Artist

Poet, translator, and teacher of writing workshops in poetry and contemporary poetics, travel writing, poetry and art, and environmental writing. Published three collections of poetry (some under former name Lignell), Entering Earthquake Country, Red Horses, and The Calamity Jane Poems, and co-edited the anthology, The Eloquent Edge: 15 Maine Women Writers. Received poetry fellowships from the Maine Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts. Teaches writing and literature at the University of Maine, Orono.
