About the Artist

Michie Stovall O'Day, born in Virginia in 1956, started painting when she was 30. Beginning in the primitive style of her grandmother, artist Queena Stovall, Michie has developed a unique approach that combines the precision of realism with the freshness of folk art. From her studio in Stonington, Maine she captures the rural subjects she loves, surrounded by the physical and spiritual worlds of her art. Her paintings are in private collections throughout the U.S.
