About the Artist
Christine Philion-Dufour is a modern dancer/teacher/choreographer who has been greatly influenced by many of the choreographers with whom she worked in New York City. These include Lucinda Childs, Marta Renzi and Doug Varone. Her work encompasses a variety of styles and utilizes a wide range of music. Christine has always danced because of music, and her choreography is similarly inspired. She believes in honesty and accessibilty within her choreography and wishes to introduce modern dance to those who would not normally see a modern dance concert. Having been a ballet dancer prior to becoming a modern dancer, she also teaches ballet.
