About the Artist

The principal focus of my art work is the medium of dye painted textiles: silks, cottons and other natural fabrics, hand painted with brilliant fiber-reactive dyes, made into wall hangings,
art quilts, scarves, and shawls. Using the transparency of the dyes, I layer colors, patterns, and symbols in ways that, for me, bring out the metaphor, the meaning, and the mystery of decorative forms.

I have a BFA in Textile Design from Moore College of Art and Design, Philadelphia, and I have studied at DeCordova Museum School in Massachusetts and at Haystack in Maine. I have exhibited in Maine and New England and nationally in juried shows.
