About the Artist
Biddeford Cultural and Heritage Center (BCHC) is a volunteer run, non-membership, cultural heritage organization with a mission to "celebrate, preserve, share, and teach the culture, diversity, heritage and history of the City of Biddeford, its people and surrounding areas." The mission is accomplished through its various programs.
The long-term goal for a cultural center was identified by many when the seeds for the organization were first planted. The Biddeford Cultural Coalition, of which BCHC is a part of, is an example of BCHC's collaborative effort to work with others for the good of all. In conjunction with its mission, the aim is to assure that the culture, heritage and history of the community continue to grow and prosper, that our roots are not forgotten, nor the people that got us here, or those who are here now.
People are our most valuable asset. Without the dedication and hard work of volunteers and supporters, programs such as the Hall of Fame, Museum in the Streets, Voices of Biddeford, presentations, Archives/Collections, BCHC Cultural Cuisine, Veterans Programs, Indigenous Peoples Project, and so much more could not
continue.
