About the Artist

Andrea Peterson is a painter who hails from New Sweden, Maine and presently resides in Southern Maine. Peterson explores the shape of the land and its relationship to human and spiritual form, plays with repetition and vibrant color in her design, and utilizes both technical and emotional brushstrokes in her abstract renditions. She has devoted many years of work to the study of circular symbolism and following the stories and intuition of her Swedish and French heritage through watercolor and acrylic painting.
She received formal training at the University of Maine at Presque Isle. She completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1999. She has had numerous exhibits in Aroostook and York Counties in Maine. She has participated in Buouy Gallery’s Art PM in Kittery, exhibited at juried shows at the Saco River Art League’s Annual Exhibition in Buxton, and The Art Center in Dover, NH.
