Sarah Cecil

About the Artist

A contemporary artist who grew up in New York, the child of a painter and an architect, Sarah Cecil attended Pratt Institute and Rhode Island School of Design before graduating from Brown University with a B.A. in painting. Her work has appeared in exhibitions at numerous galleries and museums including the Worcester Art Museum (Massachusetts), June Fitzpatrick Gallery (Maine), Lazy Susan Gallery (New York), and List Art Gallery (Rhode Island). She has lectured on art and design at the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum in New York, written on art for many publications, and served on peer review panels for the National Endowment for the Arts. She lives in Portland, Maine.
