About the Artist

The Cynthia Winings Gallery is a contemporary art gallery located in a renovated barn in Blue Hill, Maine. Open seasonally from mid-May through mid-October, the gallery presents curated exhibitions featuring painting, sculpture, ceramics, fiber, collage, and mixed media by emerging and established artists, many of whom are based in Maine.

The two-story space includes an outdoor sculpture garden, established in 2020, where large-scale works are placed in the surrounding landscape. Exhibitions are thoughtfully arranged to create visual and thematic connections between works, with a focus on originality and craft across a wide range of practices.

Founded in 2013 by artist and curator Cynthia Winings, the gallery emphasizes artist support and meaningful viewer engagement. Winings’ background in visual art and nonprofit arts programming informs a strong curatorial vision and welcoming atmosphere.

The gallery also hosts occasional community events, including readings and performances, often in collaboration with local artists and writers. It has become a valued part of the creative community on the Blue Hill Peninsula.
