About the Artist

Coppice Tree Hooking (Amelia MacDougall Fleming) is a rug hooker based in Rockland, Maine. Originally from the Tantramar region of the Canadian Maritimes, her work is rooted in the natural world and the rhythms of rural life. She hand-hooks rugs using locally sourced wool and repurposed farming clothes—fibers full of story and history. Amelia’s rugs explore themes of comfort, tradition, and place, and are made to be touched, walked on, and passed down through generations.
