About the Artist

Rodney Richard is well known across the state for his traditional white pine chainsaw sculptures and small, delicate handcarvings. His understanding and feeling for the material comes first hand from 35 years experience wielding a chainsaw in Maine's north woods. Richard's son is also an active woodcarver, making two generations of Richards who express themselves in the Maine tradition.
