About the Artist

Mary Hart is a painter and printmaker. Her work combines intensely realistic natural objects such as insects, flowers and seeds, with a more abstract ground.

Her paintings are in the collections of the Portland Museum of Art, the Zillman Museum of Art, the University of New England and Simmons College among others. She has exhibited widely throughout Maine and the northeast, including solo shows at Simmons College in Boston and The University of Maine Museum of Art in Bangor, and the Winter Salon at Denise Bibro Gallery in NYC.

She is a member of Peregrine Press in Portland, ME and Zea Mays Printmaking in Florence, MA working primarily with photopolymer intaglio.
