About the Artist
Mac McHale and Emery Hutchins, affectionately known as Mac &&&& Hutch, have recently joined forces to sing and play songs from Ireland, the mountains and the sea. Mac and Hutch were the original founders of the Irish band, Northeast Winds. They traveled, and recorded with The Winds for nearly 18 years.
For the last 17 years, Mac has headed up The Old-Time Radio Gang, a very successful traditional country music band and Hutch has been a very important part of the Angel Band, a world famous Irish music group.
They will be performing some of their favorite?s music from The Northeast Winds as well as some very old-time traditional country music. The program is sure to include some of your favorite Irish and sea songs, a good amount of hot picking instrumentals and some great sing-a-longs.
Mac &&&& Hutch will be playing the banjo, guitar, mandolin, concertina, bodran and the octave mandolin.
During their performances, they are able to illustrate how the music came to this country with the immigrants from Ireland, Scotland and Great Britain. Although it has been modified, it is still evident where the roots of a lot of these songs and tunes began. Two Old Friends are dedicated to taking their music, stories and poems to smaller and underserved areas wherever and whenever invited.
