About the Artist

The primary basis or starting point of my work is Raku. I sculpt masks in Raku clay and fire them in the tradional raku method but, some of my other Raku pieces consist of Raku hand sculpted forms, whether they are abstract, or implied themes from nature, such as dragonflies, which are then suspended over, (and sometimes under) art glass, and framed. These ""fragments"" are often not only Raku glazed in the traditional method, but are also glazed with glass fragments, sea glass, and various ""found"" materials that can be incorporated into the glazing process. Essentially, the best summation of my work could be: ""Altered Raku Sculpted Mixed Media Forms and Processes""...
I also paint in acrylic, oil, oil bars, and mixed media, and the paintings can range from small to large, visionary to prairie landscapes.
Currently, my work is available at the Eastport Art Gallery, Eastport, Maine and Cat''s Eye Gallery, Calais, Maine
