About the Artist

Lynn Plourde is the author of 25+ picture books and prides herself on being a "teaching author" who makes frequent visits to schools teaching young authors how to plan, write, and revise stories. She also shares advice and organizers for teaching writing at teacher workshops, including lessons on writing fables, poetic stories, and other story types. Some of Lynn's books include "Pigs in the Mud in the Middle of the Rud," "Wild Child," "School Picture Day," "Dino Pets," "Margaret Chase Smith: A Woman for President," "Grandpappy Snippy Snappies," and "The Blizzard Wizard." Her books have received awards such as the Lupine Honor, Smithsonian Notable Book, Amelia Bloomer Project Book, Oppenheim Gold Award, and others. Lynn grew up in Skowhegan, Maine, and currently lives in Winthrop, Maine, with her family.
