About the Artist

My art could be described as varied in medium as well as style. I have a great deal of experience working with people, through professional social work, and business ownership. I do workshops based on all of the areas of creativity that I mention below. African culture is an area of expertise in music and art. I have a BFA with a concentration in Painting, but I do blacksmithing, jewelry making, Photography, cinematography and videography as well. My latest larger project was a Movie called Savick''s Life which was aired on many public access stations on the coast of Maine. I also won a second place media award for the picture. It is a movie about a young man transcending the disabilies of mental retardation. This movie began as a method of support, but it provided therapy and self actualization which is just now a cutting edge effective tool for learning. I met Savick through an organization that I was working for to support children with mental retardation and autism. I paint and draw pretty regularly, am working on a book of poems/collage/drawings/photographs, and also compose and produce music. I am a person who enjoys sharing ideas and knowledge, as well as giving and taking inspiration from everyone, and everything around me.
