About the Artist
Sarah Ann Smith is a fervent art quilter; she sells her aratwork, has a line of quilt patterns, teaches, and writes for Machine Quilting Unlimited magazine. She is also author of a forthcoming book on using thread on the surface of a quilt.
Sarah''s extensive life-long travel and love for the diverse peoples and places in the world infuse her art, while an early fascination with Hawaiian quilting patterns has returned to become the source of inspiration for Sarah''s first published patterns. Sarah uses whichever techniques she needs to achieve the desired effect in her art including dyeing, painting, hand and machine quilting, embroidery, embellishment with beads, yarns, and any suitable object, piecing, and applique, and many more yet to be discovered and tried.
