About the Artist

The St. Cecilia Chamber Choir is beginning its tenth year of creating serious and beautiful music. Directed by Linda Blanchard and accompanied by Sean Fleming, our mission is to present the community with outstanding performances of the very best choral repertoire, to provide singing opportunities for gifted local youth, to support our community with outreach programs, and to support Maine composers with performances and commissions of new music.

Since the Choir's inception, twelve gifted young students have sung with us, many continuing to study music in college and beyond. Outreach programs have included providing music for the historic Old German Church in Waldoboro, two Renaissance Faires, and the Round Top Center for the Arts Gathering in response to the September 11th attacks. To date, we have performed thirteen works by four Maine composers - seven of which were especially commissioned for the group.
