About the Artist

JoAnne Campbell is a uniquely talented watercolor artist who has been working in the seacoast arts community for years. She lives in Portsmouth, NH, and is the owner of the Powder House Gallery in York, Maine. She has studios in both locations, usually painting in her gallery in the warmer months and at home during the rest of the year. JoAnne is a prolific artist who paints a diversity of subjects. Most notable are her brilliant floral paintings, which comprise about half of her output. The remaining half is spread over a variety of topics that include Mediterranean scenes, seascapes and other coastal scenes, and landscapes often taken from her extensive worldwide travels.

JoAnne's paintings are dynamic, vivid, warm, and uplifting. They often have an uncanny ability to capture either a mood or a fleeting moment. Her work characteristically reflects her cheerful, positive outlook and her zest for life.

Her paintings are exhibited and are offered for sale at her gallery, along with a large selection of prints and gift items. She also accepts commissions. Her paintings are also featured in private collections throughout the United States and on four continents.
