Alexis Lyon

About the Artist

Alexis Lyon currently handbuilds with clay on the sixth floor of the State Theater Building, at 142 High Street, Suite 609 in Portland, Maine. While recent sculptures reference gastrointestinal organs specifically, as well as parasitic worms that often dwell in such organs, she is now exploring more forms and creatures inspired by deep sea creatures. Other work by Alexis includes pressed tile wall hangings. Over the past decade she has also produced a significant amount of two dimensional work to include oil paintings, acrylic paintings, (portraits, nudes, and abstract) and well as mixed media drawings and paintings that use a variety of collage and painting techniques.
