About the Artist

I am predominantly a wood carver. I have always been interested in narrative in my sculpture. One way has been to refer to architecture as a way that stories build.Ladders and bridges are two of the most fundamental mobile architectural forms, suggesting movement through space and endless possibilities. Boats are another kind of mobile architecture and one of the most fundamental human containers. The imagery of many cultures, including Pueblo ladders, the boat/bridges of ancient Greece and Syria and the ladder bridges in Nepal, also inspires these narratives.
